Tbilisi. The Romanian Prime Minister, Victor Ponta, who
visited Georgia at the end of last week, was hosted by head of the Georgian
Government, Irakli Garibashvili at the official dinner in honor of the Romanian
delegation.
According to the premier's press-service's
information, Irakli Garibashvili once again thanked his Romanian counterpart
for his visit to Georgia and emphasized that the two countries were tied by
century long, deep cultural - historical relations, based on the rich orthodox
traditions.
According to the Head of the Georgian
Government, political and economic crisis are serious challenges for the modern
world; in this most difficult time, Romania's support for Georgia's sovereignty
and territorial integrity, as well as in the terms of the European and
Euro-Atlantic aspiration of Georgia, is of great value.
The Georgian Prime Minister expressed
assurance that the successful political cooperation between Georgia and Romania
would deepen and move to a completely new level. "I truly believe that our
countries will strengthen mutually beneficial ties for the prosperity of our
region, as well as for the European family "- the Georgian premier
addressed his Romanian counterpart.
"Please invite us for the ceremony of joining the European
Union," - said the Prime Minister of Romania Victor Ponta at the official
dinner.

visited Georgia on March 14-15.
In the framework of the visit, the
Romanian Prime Minister held meetings with President of Georgia, Giorgi
Margvelashvili and Chairman of the Parliament, Davit Usupashvili, he also
visited Mstkheta - the ancient capital of Georgia.
On 15 March, the Prime
Ministers of two countries attended Georgia-Romania rugby match, which ended in
the Georgian team's victory with the score 22:9.
