The constitutional reforms initiated by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan do not meet the Armenian people's interests, Leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian said at today's press conference in Yerevan.
He thinks that the reforms are an attempt to withdraw the item on the sovereignty of the state from the Constitution, which will allow Armenia to integrate into another state as a confederacy. In this context, he stressed that all the parliamentary forces should join efforts against the ruling regime. "The struggle should not be limited to parliamentary cooperation, it should continue in the streets and squares", he said. In the meantime, Hovannisian said that Armenia will have an active political autumn, which can bring radical changes. "I would not wait for the autumn, but I have to agree with the non-coalition parliamentary forces", he stressed. The politician does not rule out his presence at the Orinats Yerkir Party's rally.
The leader of Heritage Party thinks that the format of cooperation of the non-coalition parliamentary forces may change, however, no party is going to leave "the four". He added that the cooperation with the Prosperous Armenia Party was effective and the rumors that the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan is going to return to the mainstream politics are ungrounded.
