The Karabakh settlement still remains one of the key issues of Armenia's foreign policy, chairman of "European integration" NGO, political expert, Karen Bekaryan, said today when summing up the results of the passing year.
"The meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Viena made it possible to break the ice in the negotiating process and to give new impetus to it", - the expert said and added that the meeting after two years of pause could give nothing more.
He said that the meeting made it possible to resume contacts and start developing the negotiating process which will transfer into a normal working course next year. "It is also important that the electoral processes have already ended in the parties to the Karabakh conflict. This will also positively affect the talks", - Bekaryan said.
At the same time, he added that despite resumption of the talks, incidents go on happening at the line of contact.
