The Police of the Nagorn-Karabakh Republic have published the details of the case related to neutralization and detention of the Azeri subversive and intelligence group in the NKR territory.

The NKR Police's press release says that on July 19 the National Security Service told the Police of Shahumyan region that on June 29 by the instruction of the Azeri intelligence, Azeri citizens Dilham Gardashhan ogly Askerov (born in 1960), Shahbaz Jalal ogly Guliyev (born in 1968), and a man, who has not been identified yet, illegally crossed the state border of the NKR and penetrated into the territory of Shahumyan region to collect information. The Azeri citizens had arms and ammunition.

On July 4, the Azeri citizens kidnapped Smbat Tsakanyan (born on 28 April 1997) from Chumen district.  Tsakanyan lived in Nor Erkej village of Shahumyan region. His dead body was found on July 15 in the forest belt between the Karvachar and Manashid communities.

On July 11, around 6 pm, one of the members of the criminal group, who has not been identified yet, shot resident of Yerevan Sargis Abrahamyan (born in 1971) on the Vardenis-Karvachar road on the grounds of ethnic hatred. He also wounded resident of Dzoraghbyur village (Kotayk region of Armenia) Karine Davtyan (born in 1977). When being detained, the criminal showed resistance and was neutralized. Dilham Askerov and Shahbaz Guliyev were arrested.
