National Assembly of France, lower House of the French Parliament, adopted the bill criminalizing denial of Armenian Genocide.
According to the "Le Figaro" newspaper the bill was voted for unanimously. The document envisages imprisonment for 1 year and a fine amounted to 45 thousand EUR for denial or attempts to reduce significance of crimes against humanity and military crimes including denial of the fact of Armenian Genocide.
To recall, during the pre election campaign current French President Francois Hollande's promises included adoption of this bill. France recognized Armenian Genocide in January 2001.
