A lot of political forces and NGOs of Armenia have already condemned last night's events in Yerevan, as a result of which 73 people have been hospitalized, hundreds were detained, and houses and a gas pipeline were burnt.
"Even the most harsh words are not enough to describe the overnight events in Yerevan, there can be no reasons to justify the force used by the Police against citizens and journalists", MP from Prosperous Armenia Vahe Enfiajyan wrote on his Facebook page.
Leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovhannisian has also made a statement, noting: "In the most egregious campaign of human rights violations since the falsification of elections and referenda, the ruling regime has rounded up and physically attacked hundreds of citizens, including journalists, for exercising their constitutional right of assembly. We demand the release of all political prisoners and the resignation of this administration, which has proved to have nothing in common with the civilized world. We suggest that all political forces and civil society stand together for the purpose of establishing, in short order, a constitutional state based on free and fair elections and a fundamental respect for the dignity of each and every citizen".
"Free Democrats" Party considered as criminal policemen's actions, who used impact munitions against unarmed people and mass media representatives. It also condemned the actions of plain-clothed instigators, who received direct instructions from the law enforcers. "Armenian authorities bear the responsibility for the escalation of the situation in the country, which will have impact on its domestic and external life", the statement of the party reads. The party urged the authorities to stop violence and called for the law enforcers to detect and punish those responsible. It also urged the parliament to create an interim commission on investigating the recent events in Yerevan.
Prosperous Armenia party also considered actions of Police as illegal and unjustified.
Head of Orinats Yerkir Faction Heghine Bisharyan touching upon the last night's events particularly stated: "What happened in Yerevan is inhuman, unnatural and low. The issues are not resolved by violations, fire and beating. All these actions escalate the atmosphere of hatred even more. Instead of searching for political ways of resolving the situation the authorities have chosen the path of self-destruction".
A number of NGOs of Armenia have applied to international agencies with a request to deploy missions to observe and document violations, including those against the peaceful protesters, arrestees and the wounded detainees.
