Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser: Switzerland will try to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict without questioning the established formats such as the OSCE Minsk process
by Nana Martirosyan
To achieve a long- term solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the conflicting parties must be ready for concessions, the newly appointed US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick said during a press-conference in Yerevan in Thursday.
He said that this requires the parties' political will and readiness for concessions. For the OSCE MG the priorities in this process are still the principles of territorial integrity, a nation's right to self-determination and nonuse of force.
Warlick said that the United States wants this conflict to be resolved peacefully. He was glad to point to growing confidence between the conflicting nations and expressed commitment to foster this process.
Warlick said that he has not new proposals and is visiting Armenia and Azerbaijan just to familiarize himself with the situation.
