Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser: Switzerland will try to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict without questioning the established formats such as the OSCE Minsk process
European Parliament has approved the Armenia-EU Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreement. A relevant recommendation to Brussels was passed at the EP Plenary Session, Wednesday, ITAR TASS reported.
Visa facilitation will give a new impetus to cooperation, particularly, to free movement of citizens, the document reads. The new rules will speed up visa procedures (to 10 days and even 2 or less days in case of emergency), will make them less expensive (35 EUR for the citizens of Armenia), and reduce red tape (shortlist documents will be required for certain categories of the population - family members, members of official delegations, students, teachers, businessmen, scientists).
The European parliamentarians recalled that the Armenian Government's protocol on visa cancellation for the citizens of the EU and Schenghen Area came into effect on 10 January 2013.
