For the third year Orange Foundation supports the program "Spectacles for Armenia" implemented by "Armenian Medical Union of France - Paris." The program is aimed at early detection and prevention of vision problems in children.
This year more than 6 thousand children in the city of Noyemberyan and 18 rural communities of Tavush region will have a free eye examination and children with eye problems will be given spectacles. The program has conducted specialized training courses for local health workers. Last year, the glasses were provided to over 240 children. In addition, in 80 children there have been identified vision problems that may later in life lead to blindness.
The program is implemented since 2004; cooperation with the Orange Foundation is carried out for the third year.
