The man that opened fire in the center of Yerevan and wounded 5 people on 17 May has been arrested. A criminal case based on Articles 235.1 and 258.4 of the Criminal Code of Armenia were initiated on the given fact. The same day, Health Minister Armen Muradyan visited the wounded at hospital and got first hand view of their recovery and treatment.
According to the Police website, the investigation revealed that certain Gor A. (1085) committed the above crime. After relevant explanatory work, Gor A. appeared in the Police and was taken to the Central Investigation Department.
He submitted a Makarov handgun with a cartridge and without a serial number. He was arrested. Investigation is underway.
By unofficial data, the son-in-law of the Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Andranik Manukyan, is said to be involved in the above crime. Manukyan, in turn, is an employee of the President's Administration and a relative of Armenian parliamentarian, a member of Prosperous Armenia Party Karo Karapetyan (nickname Yuvetsi Karo).
