Armenian Parliament Speaker Galust Sahakyan told reporters, Monday, no final decision has been passed to strip Gagik Tsarukyan of his seat in the parliament.
He said, Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party is yet to submit reasonable excuses of his absences. The speaker did not specify how Tsarukyan will be stripped of his seat in the parliament for the absences that were considered excusable yet not so long ago. "At the moment, we are studying the issue. No final decision has been made yet," he said.
To recall, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has recently levered harsh criticism at Gagik Tsarukyan and charged studying the issue of stripping Tsarukyan of his seat.
Sahakyan said that there is no political persecution against Tsarukyan. "PAP is free to decide whether to act in the opposition camp or not. We have never exerted any pressure on it," he said.
