Tbilisi. Reshaped composition of the Georgian government has been introduced by the Georgian President's Spokesperson, Manana Manjgaladze, at a briefing, on Tuesday, July 3.
Former Interior Minister, Vano Merabishvili, has been appointed country's Prime- Minister. "A new composition of the Georgian Ministers' Cabinet has been already introduced to the Parliament for approval," Manjgaladze stated.
According to the President's Spokesperson, Bacho Akhalaia, ex-Defence Minister, has been appointed the Minister of Interior of Georgia. Dmitry Shashkin, former Education Minister, will hold the post of the Minister of Defence. Khatia Dekanoidze, former Head of the National Examinations Center (before that the Head of Georgian Police Academy), has been appointed the Minister of Education.
Koba Subeliani, ex-Minister of Refugees, IDPs and Settlement, has been replaced by Dali Khomeriki, former Minister of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia in exile.
A new agency - the Ministry of Employment has been also introduced in Georgia. Paata Trapaidze, a businessman, has been introduced for this post. Ex-Minister of Interior, Ivane (Vano) Merabishvili, was nominated for the Prime-Minister's post by President Saakashvili, last weekend. As Merabishvili claimed, the unemployment problem, as well as development of agriculture and healthcare spheres, would be priority trends of his work.
