To prevent migration of rural population, it is necessary to develop agricultural industry, a candidate for president, incumbent President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, said over today's meeting with voters in Eghvard town, as Arminfo correspondent reported.
He said that it is very much important to provide farmers with "cheap credits" which they can use to buy seed grains, fuel and agricultural equipment. Today the irrigation water supply is the most difficult problem in villages, he said and added that in this context three water storage will be built and commissioned in 2013 - in Kapsi, Vedi and Eghvard. The president said that the process of establishment of the anti-hail system will go on over the current year. It will let to save the harvest from hail.
Sargsyan said that he does not have a right to make senseless statements and give unreal promises, as he is always in the center of the society's attention, which notices his mistakes as well as good work. He called on the voters to vote for him for more activation of the work he began.
To recall, the presidential candidates are as follows: incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan from the Republican Party and former prime minister Hrant Bagratyan from the Liberty Party. All the remaining are self- nominated candidates: Leader of the Union for National Self-Determination Party Paruyr Hayrikyan, Leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian, Advisor for Political Issues of the Refugees and the International Law Civil Society Network, ex-foreign minister of NKR Arman Melikyan, Leader of National Accord Party Aram Haroutiunyan, political expert Andrias Ghukasyan, and specialist in epic Vardan Sedrakyan. The elections will be held on Feb 18 2013.
