French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier has informed his government that he was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry over the visit of Artsakh President Bako Sahakyan and Baku's note of protest in this light.
"France doesn't support separatism, and at the same time, Paris can't control Sahakyan's visit to France. I understand that Azerbaijan is anxious over the visit of Bako Sahakyan to France. He held meetings there with the mayors of cities, and this causes the discontent of Azerbaijan," Turan reports the ambassador as saying.
Bako Sahakyan visited France on May 18-21 and signed some cooperation agreements between the French and Karabakh cities. In this light, Baku summoned the French Ambassador for explanations.
