Yerevan's Municipality discussed on Wednesday a project to open a new domestic waste dump in the city.
The Municipality discussed the results of a survey of the social and environmental impacts the project may have on Yerevan.
The dump is supposed to cover an area of 29 ha and to be 60 meters deep. It will be divided into five sectors.
An executive from Bernard Ingenieure said that the dump will meet all necessary requirements. It will be walled-in and hermetic and will have a special pool. A special system will prevent emitted gases from harming nature.
The Municipality is going to submit the project for Armenia's Environment Protection Ministry's consideration.
