Ahead of the new educational year, VTB Bank (Armenia) has funded and organized capital repair of a math classroom at the secondary educational school No.21 under Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation. The school is located in the Kanaker administrative district in Yerevan. The Bank presented the school with computers and multimedia projector. The classroom is intended for the pupils of the secondary and high schools.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Armenia, H.E. Mr. Ivan Volynkin and Director General - Chairman of the Board of VTB Bank (Armenia) CJSC Yuri Gusev attended the ceremony marking the start of the new education year at the school, VTB Bank (Armenia) press-service told ArmInfo. The guests congratulated the pupisl and the teaching staff on the new education year and made a tour of the school buildings.
Citing Democritus, Ambassaodr Volynkin said: "Nature and education are somewhat similar. The latter transforms man, and in so doing creates a second nature." The ambassador expressed hope that pupils will enjoy studying in the new, bright classroom to learn more and more about the world and cited Roger Bacon: "For the things of this world cannot be made known without a knowledge of mathematics." Ambassador Volynkin thanked the leadership of VTB Bank (Armenia) for turning ideas into reality.
"We are happy to make such a present to the school at the beginning of the new educational year. Pupils have got an opportunity to study in the renovated classroom full with the necessary equipment. The Bank has been supporting the school No.21 of the Russian Defense Ministry for several years already. The Bank helped repairing and equipping also the classrooms of information technologies and the Russian language. I think, this tradition will be continued," said Yuri Gusev, Director General - Chairman of the Board of VTB Bank (Armenia) CJSC.
The school No.21 was opened in Yerevan on 1 September 1994 by the Russian Defense Ministry at the Group of the Military Department of the Russian Armed Forces in Armenia for the children of the RF servicemen. As many as 407 pupils study at the school at present.
