It seems that Azerbaijani Government does not seek to bring back Karabakh, Azerbaijani conflictologist Elhan Mehdiyev told faktxeber.com.
"The Karabakh problem could be resolved with mediation of the neighbor countries in 1991-92, but we missed that opportunity. At the current situation, the Azerbaijani Government has neither forces nor conditions to make such step," he said. According to Mehdiyev, the OSCE Minsk Group does not even remember about Karabakh.
It is mostly the guilt of the Azerbaijani Government, he said. Mehdiyev thinks the USA and France have just moral responsibility. They did not display the same position on Azerbaijan's territorial integrity as they insisted on in the issue of the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine. "Although they support Azerbaijan behind the closed doors, their public position is not changing. There is an impression that they are afraid of Armenia," he said.
