The OSCE/ODIHR recommends the Government of Armenia measures to improve people's confidence in elections, Nicola Schmidt, Deputy Head of the ODIHR Elections Department, told journalists after a workshop on electoral improvements held in Yerevan on Thursday for political and public figures.
Schmidt said that the OSCE/ODIHR's last recommendations on how to improve Armenia's electoral system envisage such workshops as an effective way to discuss existing problems and to suggest possible solutions to them.
Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan said that one of the OSCE/ODIHR's recommendations suggests applying other mechanisms for making voters' lists, particularly, listing people who are not in Armenia for the time being.
"There are also recommendations proposing ways to improve the campaign and the vote count and suggesting forming pre-election funds," Mukuchyan said.
