Tbilisi. With the aim of carrying out routine repairs in the Tbilisi power distribution network,
power supply to residents of Tbilisi will be restricted from June 23 till July
4 through, Vakhtang Kinkladze, a technical director of Telasi JSC stated.
"Telasi continues preparatory repair
works for the autumn-winter season 2014-2015, that's why there will be certain
restriction in power supply to
consumers", said Vakhtang Kinkladze.
According to him, maintenance works will
be carried out on week-days from 20.00
a.m. till 05.00 p.m.. The investment
program also envisages laying of new cables, providing transformer pillars with
reserve feed, reconstruction of transformer pillars and distribution devices of
sub-stations, repair of transformers.
"Power supply to Tbilisi will become more reliable and stable after
maintenance works", Vakhtang Kinkladze noted.
It should be reminded that in the first
quarter of 2014, total length of the company's power transmission lines totaled
4 433 km that was by 6,2% more (by 250 km) as compared with the first quarter
of 2013 (4 173 km). The length of power transmission lines increased at expense of grids development and
new consumers joining the grid.
Telasi JSC is one of the largest power companies in
Georgia, which distributes power in Tbilisi. It provides power to more than 460
thousand consumers. In August 2003 Telasi was included into INTER RAO which
owns 75% of shares, the rest shares are owned by the state.
