The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and along the Line of Contact of the Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces is being controlled. So, the Armenian society should not worry, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan told journalists on September 1.
The minister pointed out that over the past month the adversary has been breaching the ceasefire and mounting sabotage attacks on both the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and on the Line of Contact of the Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces, however, the Armenian parties control the situation and repel the attacks. "Azerbaijan has also been firing from mine throwers, but the Armenian armed forces are taking relevant steps to ensure our security. So, the society has nothing to worry about," stressed Ohanyan.
Ohanyan also commented on the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair's statement about the forthcoming meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and Ilham Aliyev. "Each meeting is followed by relative stability on the borders and prerequisites for settlement of the problem with due regard for the international law principles," said the minister.
