One can expect the Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreement to be signed with Armenia during the Eastern Partnership summit in Vilnius, European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Stefan Fule, said in Chisinau on Friday.
According to Fule, the EU hopes to sign AA/DCFTA with Ukraine, initial the same agreement with Moldova and Georgia, sign a Visa Facilitation and Readmission Agreement with Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as to gain tangible results in cooperation, particularly, in the fields of transport and education.
To note, Armenia and the EU have been negotiating on the Association Agreement for 3 years. On September 3, 2013, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan announced the country's decision to join the Customs Union. Afterwards, European officials said that the Customs Union and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area were incompatible.
