Political expert: Reports that the Azeri Parliament might adopt a law "On Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan" were just an attempt to see the reaction of the Azeri society, Armenia and the world community
Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
As the guarantor of Nagorno-Karabakh's security, Armenia must do its best to attain a fair solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Speaker of the
Armenian Parliament Edward Sharmazanov said during a meeting with Nagorno-Karabakh MPs on Thursday.
"Nagorno-Karabakh can no longer be part of Azerbaijan – this is an undisputable fact," Sharmazanov said, adding that Nagorno-Karabakh must be involved in the peace talks and reminding the MPs of the Armenian President's words that Nagorno-Karabakh's recognition is not far off and has no alternative.
Concerning the release of Ramil Safarov, Sharmazanov said that Safarov acted on behalf of the Azeri authorities, who are conducting a policy of fascism and extremism, and pointed out the need of international sanctions against them.
