On December 12-13, Vanadzor will host Hackathon [Yan] Childhood 2015, a contest of innovative ideas and programming. The organizers of the contest are Microsoft Innovation Center in Armenia, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Microsoft RA, Public Journalism Club, Vanadzor Technological Center. The contest will be held in cooperation with Beeline Armenia.
The press office of Beeline Armenia reports that within the contest the teams of "programmers" and "non- programmers" will work out solutions for various fields which will further be presented to the specialists and mentors.
"The interest in the contest is very high. We have received 70 applications from over 250 participants. The solutions we offer concern a variety of areas, ranging from healthcare to nature protection and trade. The goal is to pay special attention to the teams offering solutions to the problems of small and medium businesses engaged in cloud technologies", says Director of the Microsoft Innovation Center Artashes Vardanyan.
"Keeping a close eye on the trends of advanced technologies, Beeline seeks to use the new digital capacities as much as possible. I have repeatedly made sure that such events allow participants to improve their ideas and are a unique platform for experience exchange for IT specialists. I can state with confidence that the future of digital technologies in Armenia and in the world depends on such young people first of all," noted Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.
On behalf of Knight - Mozilla OpenNews, the Public Journalism Club - the permanent partner of the contest - has prepared a special money award.
The contest will be held in Vanadzor, where tangible measures are being taken with the support of the Armenian Government, the World Bank and the Enterprise Incubator Foundation to make the town a technological center.
The Hackathon [Yan] Childhood 2015 contest is being held with the support of the World Bank, Armenian Ministry of Economy, Beeline Armenia, Knight-Mozilla OpenNews and secondary schools No.17 and No.5 of Vanadzor.
