The 29th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) kicked off in Yerevan today on 12 December amid actions of protests against Turkish Foreign Minister's visit, ArmInfo's correspondent reports.
The protests are organized by the Nikol Aghbalyan Student Union of ARFD Party and the Youth Union of ARFD to remind Turkey and the world community that Turkey must recognize the Genocide of Armenia and pay compensations to the successors of the Genocide victims. The protesters also try to show hatred of Turkey towards Armenia. During the action, the activists and police officers had a squabble.
Earlier the Foreign Ministry of Armenia reported that the results of the 6-month rotating chairmanship of Armenia will be summed up at the meeting. High-ranking delegation of the BSEC countries and BSEC Secretary General Viktor Tsvirkun is expected to arrive in Armenia. In Yerevan, the BSEC chairmanship will be transferred from Armenia to Bulgaria.
