Politician: Ex-president of Azerbaijan offers a good gift to Armenia's Foreign Ministry

Ex-president of Azerbaijan has offered an excellent gift to Armenia's Foreign Ministry thanks to his comments on the Khojalu events in 1992 , the leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia, the former first secretary of Central Committee of Armenian Communist Party, Aram Sargsyan, said at today's press-conference.

Mutalibov has recently explained in an interview with Azerbaijani service of Radio Liberty  the reasons of his resignation in 1992, indirectly hinting that the so-called "Khojalu genocide", allegedly implemented by Armenian units, actually was initiated by the People's Front of Azerbaijan headed by Heydar Aliyev with a purpose to overthrow Mutalibov. "It was unacceptable to link my resignation with the Khojaly genocide. It affected me much. I did not expect to be blamed for the genocide. This information was disseminated everywhere and turned into a big obstacle in front of me, which I could not overcome", - Mutalibov said.

Sargsyan said that the Armenian party should use this statement as much as possible so that to neutralize the efforts of the Azerbaijani propaganda which is busy proclaiming about the genocide. He offered Armenia's Foreign Ministry to direct the relevant note to the OSCE MG co-chairmen with a claim to draw
attention to Mutalibov's words which in fact unmasked actions of present authorities of Azerbaijan. "I am often surprised with idleness of our Foreign Ministry against the background of the active work of the Azerbaijani propaganda machine based on lie. We have got the grounded and undeniable arguments, on the one hand,  to show the true image of Azerbaijan to the whole world, and on the other hand, to prove that Nagornyy Karabakh Republic was formed legally and is a fully-fledged  subject at the world arena", - Sargsyan said.
