700 couples in Armenia got divorced over Jan-Mar 2012

In 2011 a total of 19,706 couples got married, of them 3,181 couples got divorced, lawyer Marianna Yeghiazaryan said at a press conference.
In 2010 a total of 17,988 couples got married, and 2,997 couples got divorced. Yeghiazaryan stressed that over Jan-Mar 2012 the number of divorces totaled 700.
For her part, psychologist Mariam Mehrabyan pointed out that the couples, who are going to get divorced, have started applying to psychologists. "Only 5 out of 20 married couples, who apply to the psychologists, get divorced", she said and added that the divorce in these 5 cases is a positive way out of the situation, as their children do not witness the numerous quarrels of their parents, and the parents maintain normal human relations.
