Georgi Kutoyan is a high-qualified professional in state work and consequently he will manage to coordinate the processes and find the best way to solve the problems, president Serzh Sargsyan stated presenting the new Director of National Security Service.
According to him, the Constitutional referendum held in the country in December 2015 will lead to drastic changes in the country, as it envisages the transition to a new system of government along with a number of other reforms. According to him, both NSS and other state agencies will face new reality and demands, from legislative compliance to rethinking of relations.
"Serious changes will take place in state agencies till 2018 and during this transition stage NSS must not only guarantee transition to new system of government and uninterrupted state power but also to establish its place and status among the state agencies", the president noted. At the same time he added that the first among priority issues, which the new Director of NSS will face is ensuring domestic security more active fight against corruption on the one hand and its prevention on the other hand. "This fight is especially important in the light of Constitutional reforms", he noted.
To note, according to Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan's decree, Georgi Kutoyan was appointed Director of the National Security Service. Gorik Hakobyan's powers as the NSS head expired on Feb 11. According to the Armenian Constitution, the NSS head must be under 70.
