Swiss Ambassador to Armenia Lukas Gasser: Switzerland will try to contribute to a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict without questioning the established formats such as the OSCE Minsk process
by Karina Manukyan
Armenian Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Vice Chairman of the Republican Party Armen Ashotyan disappointed with the latest report on the Russian Public Television over Armenia's accession to the Customs Union.
To recall, Sunday's information-analytical program on the Russian Public Television during which its anchor Irada Zeynalova (incidentally an ethnic Azeri) presented the results of the Minsk Summit of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and voiced an opinion that Armenia could not become a member of the Customs Union in view of its unsettled conflict with Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh. Commenting on the report, the minister told reporters Wednesday that he sees obvious efforts by the Russian media outlets to create artificial emotional problems between Armenia and Russia. He did not think that the Russian authorities are behind the given report.
Ashotyan said that Armenia has never betrayed Russia. The minister compared Armenia with Janus who manages to show its face in several places at once due to its multi-vector policy.
