Armenia is interested in deepening of partnership within the frames of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, Armenia National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov stated the aforesaid in his opening remarks at the 43rd Session of the Cultural, Educational and Social Affairs Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.
He said that there is a great potential especially in the energy and communication sectors for development of the economic partnership in the Black Sea region. "It is necessary to stimulate investments in the regional infrastructures", - Sharmazanov said.
In this context, he added that peaceful settlement of conflicts in the region is of primary importance for peace and prosperity. As for the Karabakh conflict, Sharnazanov said: "Azerbaijan's latest numerous violations of the ceasefire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and its acts of sabotage on the Nagorno-Karabakh Line of Contact suggest that they may become a real threat for regional stability. Azerbaijan's growing militaristic threats and its authorities' bellicose statements as well as the arms race initiated by Baku should be condemned."
Meanwhile, as he empathized, the Armenian party is interested only in peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict in the OSCE MG format on the basis of the principle of the Karabakh people's right for self-determination.
