European Parliament to start discussing resolution on Safarov's case at 5 pm Yerevan time

On September 13 at 5 pm Yerevan time, the plenary session of the European Parliament will cover discussion and voting of a resolution on Hungary's decision on extradition of murderer Ramil Safarov to Azerbaijan and his further pardoning in Baku.
To note, 6 parties in the European Parliament have submitted draft resolutions on Safarov's case wherein they express concern over Safarov's pardoning. The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) have submitted a draft resolution consisting of 6 paragraphs, 5 of them directly express concern over the Azerbaijani authorities' actions.
The draft resolution of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists & Democrats (S&D), first of all, condemns Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decision to release Safarov, as well as to glorify him.
The draft resolution of the European People's Party (EPP) says that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev's decision on pardoning of Safarov escalates the tension between the sides even more.
The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE/ADLE) considers the decision on Safarov's pardoning as running counter to the humanitarian goals of the Strasbourg Convention.
The draft resolutions of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left (GUE/NGL) and the Greens/European Free Alliance (Greens/EFA) also condemn the decision on the murderer's pardoning and call on the Armenian and Azerbaijani authorities to continue the Karabakh peace process.
