The signing of the agreement on Armenia's accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will give a start to a new stage of integration, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in Minsk on Friday.
He said that Armenia perfectly realize the responsibility the EEU membership implies. "I am sure that jointly we will be able to effectively integrate Armenia into the Union. The negotiations were not easy but due to political will and professional approach we have successfully completed them. We are grateful to the presidents of all the member states and to the Eurasian Commission for the huge work they have done," Sargsyan said.
He said that Armenia regards the EEU as a basic format for predictable relations.
"Though we have no common borders with the EEU members, we are convinced that this will not be an obstacle for us. It is obvious that together we are economically stronger," Sargsyan said.
