Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
Armenia experiences 25% growth in the prices of airline tickets, Sona Hayrapetyan, an employee of Jasuta Travel agency, told ArmInfo.
She said that the price boost concerns the tickets to all destinations. Hayrapetyan also pointed out that Armenians prefer spending their holidays in Europe, particularly, in Italy and Spain. "It's amazing that the trips to Turkey are also very popular, a lot of Armenians spend their vacation on the Turkish beaches", she said.
For her part, Lusine Vardanyan, an employee of Sputnik company, also stated the boost in the airline ticket prices and especially pointed out the price growth for the tickets to Turkey. She said that Armenians prefer spending their holidays not only in Spanish and Italian resorts, but also in the northwestern cities of the United States, for instance in the state of Montana.
Nelly Muradyan, an employee of Imega Tour agency, singled out Greece among Armenians' favorite places for vacation, as well as the islands of Crete and Halkidiki. She stressed that for many years Bulgaria has been in the lead among the most visited countries due to the comparatively low prices. She added that at the moment the demand for the tickets to the given destinations is very high, and sometimes the travel agencies have to book tickets for extra flights.
To note, the flow of Armenian tourists to Georgia is still the biggest. At the same time, the people prefer organizing their leisure themselves to using the services of tour agencies. According to the tour operators, the beach-related rest in Adjara is much cheaper than in the local Armenian resorts.
