Political expert: Reports that the Azeri Parliament might adopt a law "On Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan" were just an attempt to see the reaction of the Azeri society, Armenia and the world community
Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
If Karabakh Armenians did not protect their land they would face the same fate as the Armenians of Baku, Grigory Ayvazyan, Head of the Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians told media, Monday.
"Although we have been fighting for our rights for already 20 years, the fruits of our fight have become felt quite recently after we could reanimate the issue of Azerbaijani Armenians. Until very recently they were talks on the Azerbaijani victims only, and no single word about hundreds of thousands of Armenians massacred in Baku," Ayvazyan said. "Azerbaijanis and Turks are brave only when they attack a flat with groups of 400 people or murder a sleeping man," he said.
He said that the Assembly will further work to achieve legal recognition of the Genocide of Armenians in Azerbaijan. A written appeal has already been submitted to the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute for documentary confirmation of the fact of genocide of the Azerbaijani Armenians. Another document has been submitted
also to the Government of Armenia, he said.
