The Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun (ARFD) has urged Yerevan's Elders Council to revoke their decision to erect in Yerevan a monument to Soviet-time political leader Anastas Mikoyan.
"You did not consult the public before passing the decision. Erecting a monument to a man that contributed to the fall of the first republic of Armenia and had a hand in the subsequent Stalin repressions means disrespect for those killed in those events and for their descendants. This monument will spoil Armenia's image in the world," says the ARFD.
