Helir-Valdor Seeder, Deputy Speaker of the Estonian Parliament, and Eduard Sharmazanov, Vice Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, who is in Estonia on a working visit, discussed the Karabakh peace process on January 12.
Helir-Valdor Seeder stressed that Estonia advocates peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict. "The most important thing is to reach peace and stability in this region. In the Karabakh peace process, the parties should be committed to the stand of the European Union and the OSCE Minsk Group," he said.
Mati Raidma, co-chair of the Estonia-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, was also present at the meeting. He said that later this week Tallinn will host a meeting of lawmakers from Baltic countries included in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. He promised to inform them of the latest developments in the Karabakh peace process. The meeting also covered issues related to bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation, as well as Armenia-EU cooperation.
