Some political forces' accusations against ARF Dashnaktsutyun roughly violate the ethics standards, Hrant Margaryan, representative of the ARFD Bureau, says. The other non-coalition parliamentary forces' criticism against ARFD is caused by the fact that ARFD supports the constitutional reforms initiated by the authorities and hopes that the reforms may be conducted with due regard for ARFD's proposals. As a result of discrepancies, ARFD refuses to take part in the joint rally of the non-coalition forces on October 10.
Margaryan thinks that the reforms provide a real historic opportunity to put the country on the right footing and the society would be wrong to miss that opportunity. When asked by ArmInfo's correspondent whether the ARFD will be able to make the authorities accept ARFD's scenario, Margaryan replied that he is optimistic about that. "Certainly, if we had more supporters in the opposition camp, we would be able to achieve bigger results", he said.
He added that ARFD is going to negotiate with the authorities on its own proposals. "The thing is that the incumbent authorities have repeatedly retained power by means of the current Constitutions. So, the statements that the new Constitution will contribute to retention of power are ridiculous. We consider that the change of the Constitution will prevent retention of power and the attempts of establishment of anyone's personal power. This is our task. The system changes will bring real democracy to Armenia and all the crucial issues in the country will be considered at the Parliament's level. This is the key pledge of our development", he said.
