According to the report of the Control Chamber of Armenia, violations worth millions of dollars have been revealed and nobody has been brought to responsibility so far, Murad Muradyan, MP from the Republican Party of Armenia, ex-minister of nature protection, said during the budget hearings.
He said that even if 10% of the specified amount is a reality, this causes serious concern. "Though I am a parliamentarian from the ruling party, I should say that no one of my colleagues from the RPA faction has raised this issue so far", he said.
In response, Deputy Finance Minister Pavel Safaryan only said that this circumstance is sad.
For his part, when presenting the budget of the Agriculture Ministry, Sergo Karapetyan, Minister of Agriculture, said that a total of 10 bln AMD is budgeted for 2015, which is by 3 bln AMD more than in 2014. 2.4 bln of the amount is credit and grant programs.
645 mln AMD will be spent on maintenance of the staff, 59 mln - on seed breeding, 150 mln on combating rodents and insects, 1.2 bln - on forest protection, (wages for workers), 4 bln - on subsidizing the fertilizer prices, 1.1 bln - on subsidizing the agriculture loans, 1.2 bln - on subsidizing the diesel fuel prices, and 1.3 bln - on vaccination. Karapetyan added that over the past two years Armenia imported 450 new field engines. He also pointed out that VTB Bank (Armenia) will lend 150 mln USD at low interest rates. These funds will be spent on creation of greenhouse facilities.
