Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
The Young Eurasia conference in the resort town of Tsakhkadzor, Armenia, has resulted in a decision to create a Eurasian Information League, Vice President of the Eurasian Cooperation Development Foundation Andrey Smirnov, said at a video bridge Yerevan-Moscow-Astana- Kiev.
"Creation of the Eurasian Information League will allow young journalists and public organizations to interact. The league will be open for everyone who will like to participate in the promotion of the idea of integration into Eurasian Union," Smirnov said.
He said that the major task of the League will be to propagate the idea of the Eurasian integration without any geographical restrictions. Smirnov said that the project lacked information support before. Hopefully, he said, the project will get it shortly.
To recall Aug 22-27, the Armenian resort town of Tsaghkadzor hosted the first Eurasian youth conference. The goal of the event was establishment of new contacts and strengthening of the existing ties of the young leaders of the CIS and Baltic states, as well as creation of a single information network in the post-Soviet space to promote the idea of the Eurasian Union suggested by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The event was held with the support of RIA Novosti, Eurasian Cooperation Development Foundation, and Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party Gagik Tsarukyan.
