Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Hovik Abrahamyan is the most probable candidate for Prime Minister of Armenia as he is less dangerous for President Serzh Sargsyan, the leader of the People's Party of Armenia Tigran Karapetyan said on Monday.
"Abrahamyan may be replaced by MP Karen Karapetyan, the brother of the owner of Tashir Group Samvel Karapetyan. The other reported candidates, Chairman of the State Committee on State and Legal Affairs David Harutyunyan and former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan, have very little chances to get the post," Karapetyan said.
The best candidate for him is Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan "but he is too honest for this and is too far from economy."
In Karapetyan's opinion, Tigran Sargsyan's resignation was part of a well-planned game: they just put on him the blame for the failure of their pension reform.
As regards Tigran Sargsyan's plans to run for presidency, Karapetyan finds them funny: "He should not have even been Prime Minister. He is a banker, a money lender, who got into people's pockets."
