VTB Bank (Armenia) and MasterCard are launching a joint bonus campaign for the MasterCard holders among the customers of VTB Bank (Armenia). The press service of the Bank has told ArmInfo that by paying with MasterCards at any trade and service outlets from 15 Dec 2014 till 15 Mar 2015, the customers of VTB Bank (Armenia) will be accumulating bonus points and will get an opportunity to win a prize: a 500 thsd AMD certificate for purchasing household appliances, a trip to Sri Lanka for two persons or a Renault Logan. A total of 100 cardholders, who accumulate the highest number of points, will take part in the draw.
The source says that MasterCard holders will receive 2 bonus points for each noncash transaction in the amount of 1000 AMD carried out at the trade and service outlets of VTB Bank (Armenia). The cardholders will get 1 bonus point if they make the noncash 1000 AMD transaction at the trade and service outlets of other Armenians banks or abroad (including online stores, excluding utilities and other noncash operations made via ATMs). The maximum number of bonus points from one operation is 50.

For his part, Yuri Gusev, Director General, Chairman of the Management Board of VTB Bank (Armenia) said that such campaigns contribute to acceleration of the transition from cash payments to noncash ones and make the noncash payments available to more citizens of Armenia.

According to the Analytical Review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), VTB Bank (Armenia) is in the lead by the number of active cards - over 368 thsd as of 1 Oct 2014 (almost 30% year-over-year growth), including almost 355 thsd Visa cards (VTB Bank (Armenia) is also the leader in this segment). The Bank joined MasterCard 1.5 years ago and managed to issue over 13 thsd MasterCards before Oct 2014, joining the top ten. VTB Bank (Armenia) is also in the lead by the amount of plastic transactions - over 120 bln AMD in Jan-Sept 2014 (24% year- over-year growth). As of 1 Oct 2014, the bank had 233 own POS-terminals and 150 ATMs. Before 2013 VTB Bank (Armenia) issued and served Visa international cards only. In September 2013 it became a principal member of MasterCard and started issuing and serving Cirrus/Maestro, MasterCard Standard and MasterCard Gold cards. In addition, the Bank serves ArCa local cards. The Bank has a processing center of its own.
