Students demand recognition of Raffi Hovannisian as president of Armenia

 A protest action of students has kicked off in front of the Yerevan State University central building. The students are protesting against the result of the Feb 18
presidential election.

ArmInfo's correspondent reports that several dozens of students have gathered and demand recognition of the opposition candidate Raffi Hovannisian as winner of the presidential election. The students oppose the data declared by the Central Electoral Commission and call on the others to join their protest. The protesters say they are not for sale and they are ready to fight till the very end. The have marched towards the Economic University to voice their demand also
there. They say their protest action is not limited in time and promise a similar action in the town of Gyumri on February 26.

Hovannisian, who got the second place at the Feb 18 presidential election, has been rallying in Yerevan and in the regions against the election outcome since February 20.

To recall, Raffi Hovannisian received 36.75% of votes and lost the Feb 18 presidential election to the incumbent president Serzh Sargsyan, who received 58.64% of votes.
