The Russian Railways may invest about 15 billion rubles in development of the Armenian railway net, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin said yesterday after the negotiations with his Armenian counterpart, Serzh Sargsyan, as RIA Novosti reported.
To recall, as ArmInfo reported earlier referring to the director general of the CJSC "South Caucasus Railway" (subsidiary of Russian Railway), in 2013 the investments of the company will amount to 540 million rubles.
South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway. Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years.
