New rates for energy generated by renewable power generation enterprises will come into force in Armenia starting July 1, 2015. During the May 29 meeting Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia has taken the decision to levy 23.631 AMD/1kWh (exc. VAT) tariff for natural flow power generation facilities. The tariff for irrigation water power stations will be 15.751 AMD/1kWh (exc. VAT) and 10.502 AMD/1kWh (exc. VAT) for small hydro-electric power stations that operate on drinking water. The tariff for wind turbine generators will total 42, 42 AMD/1kWh (exc. VAT) and 42,426 AMD/1kWh (exc. VAT) for stations that operate on biofuel. The decision will be in force till July 1, 2016.

Ali Fuat Yilmazer, the former Head of Turkish police intelligence department, has been arrested over the assassination of famous Armenian journalist Hrant Dink.

The president laid a wreath at the Memorial to the Battle of Sardarapat and paid tribute to the memory of heroes. President Sargsyan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, greeted the participants of the festive military parade and congratulated them on Republic Day. Afterwards, the president watched the festive cultural program, according to the president's press-office.

Ordinary customers should not take the consequences of failed management and thefts at "Electric Networks of Armenia" CJSC; however, Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia (PSRC) is the body to take the final decision, David Harutyunyan, the Minister-Chief of the Government Staff, told the media on May 25 at National Assembly.

Minister for Labor and Social Affairs Artyom Asatryan disclaimed the reports that orphanages "rent" kids to beggars. Talking to reporters on May 29, the minister said the parliamentarians who raise such issues must submit facts, if they have any, to the law enforcement. The minister said he will discuss the issue with Naira Zohrabyan, the head of the Prosperous Armenia Party faction in the parliament, who raised the issue earlier.

Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan has charged the members of the Government to spare funds, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Artyom Asatryan told reporters, on May 29, when asked about acquisition of expensive cars for the Government members and Municipality.

"Areximbank - Gazprombank Group" will put into action the new Internet-banking tariffs since June 1. The bank's press-office has informed ArmInfo that both legal entities and individuals can use the new tariffs. "Areximbank - Gazprombank Group" introduced its internet-banking service in November 2009.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Armenia will work together to reduce the impacts of hazardous waste and related contaminated sites from Soviet times, in order to protect human and environmental health through the effective elimination of obsolete pesticide stockpiles, particularly persistent organic pollutants (POPs) in Armenia, the website of the UN Yerevan Office reports.
