Ankvab's One Life Guard Died and Three Guards Wounded

Tbilisi. Three persons of the life-guard of  de-factor president of separatist authorities of Abkhazia Alexander Ankvab were wounded, one officer died as a result of the attack on  the cortege  of the head of the self-proclaimed republic on Wednesday in the morning, RIA Novosti agency reports with the reference to head of the information department Christian Bzhania.

The blast occurred approximately at 08.25 a.m. on the highway Gudauta-Sukhumi, in the vicinity of settlement Druzhba of Gudauta district.

                A strong explosive device was laid on the way of the cortege movement. After it was exploded, the cortege was fired at from grenade dischargers and a machine gun, Bzhania told.

                The officials of the life-guard opened the return fire. As a result of the skirmish three officers of life-guard have been wounded, two of them have heavy wounds. One more official of the life-guard, Remzik Tsugba, died.

                One of the accompanying cars  burnt as a result of the shell targeting at it. The operative-investigation service is working in the place of the incident.

Ankvab have been attacked some times, he was wounded twice. No one of the attacks have been investigated. On September 23, 2010 his house in village Likhni was fired at from a grenade discharger, as a result he was wounded into a leg and a an arm.
