Marat Terterov: Armenia’s long term security will be better served by strengthening economic security, rather than defining national security on the basis of the Tsarist Russian catch-cry “armiya i flot”
The posts of the Armenian Prime Minister and Speaker of Parliament will be taken up by representatives of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), Spokesperson of the RPA Edward Sharmazanov told journalists on May 24, upon completion of the session of the RPA executive body.
He said that the structure of the future government was not discussed at the session. However, as the ruling party has obtained the majority of seats in the Parliament, the Government and the National Assembly will be headed by the RPA representatives. He added that the ruling party will implement its commitments and is open for any reasonable suggestion from all political parties. Sharmazanov also said that the decisions on the personnel appointments will be taken before the first session of the National Assembly on May 31.
