Political expert: Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leaving the coalition is an unexpected step

 "The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leaving the coalition is an unexpected step. However, I am very glad for that, as nobody needs demonstrative coalition between the RPA and PAP. Gagik Tsarukyan's such step has caused intrigue in the political field of the country", - political expert, former member of the political council of the opposition Republic party, Suren Surenyants, said at today's press-conference.  

He also added that today nobody can say for sure, what candidate the PAP will nominate at the forthcoming presidential election, but it is very much possible that many members of PAP will leave it after its leaving the coalition. "There are people which cannot imagine themselves without the power, and ex-foreign minister of Armenia Vardan Oskanyan is among them. Having failed in his sphere, he is simply beating up and down and making chaotic steps", - Surenyants said.

He thinks that Robert Kocharyan has been involved in all the actions of PAP, although his name is not so much associated with PAP. If PAP risks to support Kocharyan's returning to the policy, in that case the party will split in two days. "The society will not forgive Kocharyan's mistakes. He is blamed for the events on 27 October 1999 and 1 March 2008 and his seat is not in the government but prison", - the expert said.

He also emphasized that success of the PAP at the parliamentary election was first of all linked with failure of the Armenian National Congress, as having chosen the wrong tactics, the Congress increased PAP electorate decreasing its own one.
