President of Armenia, Leader of the Republican Party of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Leader of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Gagik Tsarukyan have arrived at an agreement during their negotiations on formation of a ruling coalition after May 6 parliamentary elections. In particular, PAP will support Serzh Sargsyan's candidature at the upcoming presidential elections in exchange for the prime minister's post.
Yerevan-based 168-Zham newspaper writes that the coalition government headed by Prosperous Armenia will actually be formed after the presidential election and not after the parliamentary elections as it was expected earlier.
Gagik Tsarukyan's refusal to form a coalition with the RPA has become a reason for many scenarios related the fate of the party and the entire government system of Armenia. Before that, most experts were due to think that PAP would join a coalition with RPA.
