Herman Achille Van Rompuy, the first long-term and full-time President of the European Union, is expected to visit Armenia shortly, Yerevan-based Zhamanak Daily reports citing its own sources. The information on the upcoming visit of the EU President was received during the visit of Philippe Lefort, European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia, to Armenia.
During the visit, the EU president is expected to discuss further enhancement of cooperation of Armenia and the EU.
To recall, Philippe Lefort met with President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in Yerevan on May 31.
