MONUMENT TO ARNO BABAJANYAN TO BE UNVEILED JULY 4

YEREVAN, JUNE 30. ARMINFO. The monument to the well-known Armenian composer Arno Babajanyan is to be unveiled July 4.

To remind, it was first unveiled in late 2002, but was dismantled for some changes. The author is sculptor David Bejanyan. Babajanyan is pictured playing the piano.

NEW ALBUM OF PAINTER MARTIROS SARYAN PUBLISHED IN RUSSIA

YEREVAN, JUNE 30. ARMINFO. The publishing house "Agni" (Samara) and Martiros Saryan Museum (Yerevan) presents a new album of the leading "Master of the brush" of the 20th century Martiros Saryan.

His paintings are addition to the fragments of his articles, letters and memories. The essay "The poetry of the light and the color" by Sh. Khachatryan presents the creative way of Saryan from his first independent steps beginning from 1903, from the first cycle of the famous "Tales and dreams," up to the stories about the last paintings and the last days of the great master. The album also includes in it opinions of well-known surveyors of his creation and those of his contemporaries. The publication is in Russian and English. The presentation of the album was held within the framework of a prestigious exhibition of Martiros Saryan in the Museum, of Picasso in the French town of Antib. The exhibition entitled "The Country of the Flying Sun" is open from June 28 to October 5. The exhibition is organized due to the combined efforts of the Armenian and Russian museums.-

EXHIBITION OF MARTIROS SARYAN'S WORKS OPENED IN ANTIB

YEREVAN, JUNE 30. ARMINFO. An exhibition of works of the great Armenian painter Martiros Saryan has been opened in Antib, France.

The press service of Armenia's press service reports that a ceremonial opening of the exhibition was held at the Picasso Museum in Antib. The exhibition was opened by Armenia's Ambassador to France Eduard Nalbandian and Mayor of Antib G. Leonetti. The title of the exhibition is "A country of soaring sun." Eighty paintings created by Martiros Saryan in different times, from the Armenian National Gallery, the Martiros Saryan House-Museum, as well as from museums of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, and private collections, are displayed at the exhibition. An album has been published, which contains information on the works displayed at the exhibition and articles by art critics. The exhibition is to last until October.
